DJ Madness otherwise known as Matthew Shaw began his professional career in New Orleans at the helm of Gators Nightclub. It wasn't long before people were queuing up in lines around the block to get in and hear his Breakbeat and Techno sets that usually progressed until 7 am in the morning. He DJ'd at many other local hot spots and one-off events including the Nation of Sound Raves. After hearing his progressive music sets and mixing skills he was invited to OZ on Bourbon Street as the Head Resident DJ. Here his career took off. DJ Madness often played marathon sets sometimes 5 nights a week lasting untill 9 AM or later. It wasn't uncommon to see suprise famous DJ's tag-teaming mixsets. OZ was voted the #1 Nightclub for recorded music by readers of the local entertainment magazine The Gambit numerous times. During his residency he was invited to be a Billboard Magazine Dance Chart Reporter in 1997. He earned the nickname Madness from the crowds frenzied response to his driving Progressive and Tribal house sets. Record Label Promoters, Execs and Artists were regular fixtures at OZ during his tenure. DJ Madness often appeared at other venues across the country while maintaining his residency at OZ.
His early influences included Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez, and Maurice Joshua to name a few

Currently he is spending a lot of time in the studio plus DJing playing the hottest House music at venues all over the world.
